BrickStreet Theatre Announces The 39 Steps cast, tickets
(Forest City, Iowa) – BrickStreet Theatre’s fall production is The 39 Steps, a comedic parody of the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film that was based on a 1915 novel. In the play, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she’s a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps” is hot on the man’s trail.
The show features a cast of four actors who portray more than 100 characters. The original concept for the story was written by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon with the script adaptation rewritten by Patrick Barlow. Performances have been described as “a riotous blend of virtuoso performances and wildly inventive stagecraft.”
BrickStreet’s production is directed by Kyle Ennis of Forest City, who is making his BrickStreet directorial debut. “I’m excited about this show and how our talented cast is meeting the challenge of portraying multiple roles,” he said. “We’ll have some fun surprises in store with our set, props, and staging. I’m confident audiences will be laughing from beginning to end.”
The cast includes Noah Hoffman as Richard Hannay, Liz Taylor as Annabelle as well as Pamela and Margaret, Noah Fredricks as Clown 1, and Julie Keely as Clown 2. Dan May voices the role of the radio announcer.
The show will be performed September 27-29 and October 4-6 in BrickStreet’s Highway 69 South venue in Forest City. The curtain opens at 7 p.m. for Friday and Saturday performances and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
